The Richard Weiner Pain Education Fund is
dedicated to increasing public and professional awareness of
pain and its management through education.
The Fund was created by the Institute of
Pain Management to honor the memory of Richard Weiner, Executive
Director
and Co-Founder of the American Academy of Pain Management (7/14/51-5/7/02).
Richard was a giant in the field of pain management who always
sought to better the lives of those individuals suffering pain
by blending together and educating multidisciplinary pain practitioners.
He always espoused an inclusionary philosophy and treated all
individuals equitably. Richard will always be remembered for
his significant contributions to the field of pain management.
The Richard Weiner Pain Education Fund seeks
to create a film documentary each year designed to elevate public
and professional awareness regarding pain and its management.
Proposals for the first two film documentaries may be found at
www.hodgepictures.com/care.
Please take time to review these proposals
and make a contribution to the Richard Weiner Pain Education
Fund. Your contribution is essential to helping people understand
the critical issues that confront those in pain. Pain should
no longer be a "silent epidemic."
