Lydia's innovation an ice little earner

Lydia Ierodiaconou couldn't believe how awkward it was to ice her knee while lying on her hotel bed the day after her spectacular crash in the preliminary rounds of the Turin Winter Olympics. The ice, wrapped in bandages, would burn, it would slip, and sometimes she would end up sitting in a puddle of water. So to distract herself from the agony of watching her teammates compete in the event in which she was one of the medal favourites, Ierodiaconou let her mind wander to ice packs and their design and application.
